Latvia circus banThe president of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis, announced the Law yesterday, which will come into full force on 13th July 2017.
 
Now the Latvian Animal Protection Law (Section 27) reads: “It is forbidden to train wild animals (both caught from the wild or bred in captivity) and use them as amusement animals. It is also forbidden to display them as entertainment animals.”
 
The ban was first announced this June, the same month that a ban for the use of wild animals in circuses was also announced in Romania and New York city, USA.
