 Wild animals in captivity – Animal welfare, law and enforcement
19th and 20th June 2013, Brussels
 
The EU Animal Welfare Strategy (2012 – 2015) and the Institutions of the European Union recognise that ‘wild animals in captivity’ require greater protection. This inaugural two day Conference is dedicated to this issue.
 
Representatives from Member State governments, the European Institutions, notable academics, industry experts and animal welfare NGOs, will help this Conference identify workable solutions to improve the lives of wild animals in captivity in the European Union.

This conference is initiated, fully-funded and hosted by the international animal welfare NGOs, the Born Free Foundation and VIER PFOTEN/FOUR PAWS International, and supported by the Humane Society International (HSI), the European coalition, ENDCAP, and the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE).
